6 Month Rule

Definitely Worth a Look
This movie has so much going for it. It's not your typical "rom com" or standard "boy meets girl" movie. Certainly, it is a "boy meets girl" movie, but there is very little in the movie that is formulaic. The acting is exceptional, especially from Martin Starr (who always puts in stellar performances in his movies), the characters are believable, and the dialogue is realistic and edgy. You actually get the feeling that these are real people, and that these situations could really happen. The characters hold your interest from start to finish (whether you like them or not).
And what I absolutely LOVED about this movie is that it is one of the very few I have seen in over five decades of watching movies that did NOT have a formulaic ending. The ending was definitely different - and realistic, not "traditional Hollywood."
Certainly, it's not the greatest movie every made, but it is definitely well done on all counts, and everyone involved in it should be commended for their...

Surprisingly...
a very much accurate depiction of the current dating/hooking up/relationship scene. First off...i'll admit i'm a bit biased: Martin Starr is amazing and I can't not love that guy, Blayne Weaver is a super cool dude and has done some other cool films and shorts(check 'em out) and the number one reason is Natalie Morales...I kinda love her. Ever since The Middleman i've been on her bandwagon and see no need to get off of it.

The premise for this movie seems simple enough. Never get fully invested in a relationship and you won't be reduced to a weak, defenseless...sad excuse of a man...right? Well I think we all know it's never that simple. Tyler and Allen's friendship in this movie is really what matters most. As we all learn...your friends really are your well-being and the role reversal in this film is quite charming. There are some real defining truths in this film that you probably wouldn't expect to find. Quite revealing, that's for sure.

So all in all...I...

Great Film
I loved every second of Blayne Weaver's 6 Month Rule! This is a film that needs to be in theaters. Unlike other Rom-com's, this film is focused on the male protagonist's point of view. Although, the protagonist does not want to commit to any woman, he eventually finds one who believes he can be with for more than 6 months. I would recommend this movie to any one who wants to see how a heterosexual man views love & relationships. I would also recommend it to anyone looking to see a really good film.
